    The Prince of the Eastern Region patrons the events of the Eastern Region Trade Forum 2019.

    Al-Khalidi discusses a number of topics, most notably the legislation and regulations of electronic commerce and their impact on the retail sector.

     

    On April 17, His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz patrons the activities of the Eastern Trade Forum 2019, which is organized by Asharqia Chamber as one of the activities of the Trade Committee in order to raise the level of commercial activity in the Eastern Province and addressing many of the challenges facing the sector at present.

     

    The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Asharqia Chamber, Abdul Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi, said that this forum, which is one of the activities of the Commercial Committee of Asharqia Chamber, is part of the Chamber's mission to develop business activity through opening up more prospects for the private sector and searching for solutions to the difficulties facing this sector.

     

    In one of its sessions, it reviews the success stories of a number of institutions and companies in facing challenges and difficulties.

    The guest speakers were the founders of Carriage Company Musab bin Jihad Al-Mutawa, the CEO and co-founder of Dokkan Afkar / Ammar and Jana Matouq, the Chief Executive Officer of Rqmnh e-Commerce Solutions / Yazid bin Abdulaziz Al Taweel and the owner and founder of the application Sokkat Alteeb / Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Matroudi.

    The session was directed by the founder of Thmanyah publishing company / Abdulrahman Abu-Malih.

     

    Al-Khalidi added that the Forum will discuss a number of important topics that are directly related to the business activity including e-commerce legislation and regulations and their impact on the retail sector, as e-commerce is of great importance in retail markets, both now and in the future.

    The guest speakers of this topics are the CEO of the commercial section of the company Noon Saudi Arabia / Eng. Tareq Fadel, the Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Investment Abdulaziz bin Saud Al-Dahaim, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of United Electronics Company (eXtra) Mohammad Jalal Fahmy and the Secretary of the Electronic Commerce Council / Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al Saleh.

    The session moderated by the marketing professor at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dr. Saleh bin Abdul Aziz Al-Shibl.

     

    He explained that Asharqia Chamber has always endeavored to explore the future and try to read it at an early date and then make recommendations and proposals to deal with it.

    When looking at the subject of electronic commerce, it sees in the light of reality indicators that is the language of the era in the coming years.

     

    He noted that Asharqia Chamber discussed the subject of electronic commerce more than twenty years ago, at a time not clear picture as it is now.

     

    The Forum, while focusing on the issue of legislation and regulations on electronic commerce, had a direct impact on the development of this type of trade, which will not proceed in a manner that achieves the added value of the national economy unless the legislation and regulations are accurate, clear and explicit.

    This is what we have seen in recent years of the issuance of many decisions governing the electronic business activity.

    Al-Khalidi expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Emir of the Eastern Region for sponsoring the activities of this Forum and meeting with representatives of the private sector of businessmen and businesswomen in the Eastern Province.

     

    For his part, the Chairman of the Commercial Committee in Asharqia Chamber Hani bin Hassan al-Afalq said that the trade in the Eastern Region is witnessing great developments and successive by virtue of geographical location (on the Arabian Gulf, and near the GCC) and the economic importance represented by the region being the capital of oil and industry in the Kingdom.

    One of the major developments is the entry of the electronic component in trade, which has witnessed qualitative leaps in the volume of daily trade exchanges.

    He added that the Forum will review a number of success stories of some prominent institutions in facing the challenges and difficulties in the issue of electronic commerce, which is the language of the era in the commercial side in particular, as the purpose of all this is to exchange views on the solutions offered to these challenges and those difficulties, which face institutions in this way.

    He pointed out that a great preparation by the Scientific Committee of the Forum, as it selected a number of experts and speakers who have experience and knowledge and experience as some of them are distinguished businessmen in their fields of work, especially the issue of electronic commerce, and some are officials in some business circles.

     

    It is expected that the Forum will be another addition to the commercial activity in the Eastern Province.​
